The IR laser Illuminator is intended for use with image intensifier tubes and CCD systems such as night vision scopes and cameras.

Your LASERLUCHS® IR laser Illuminator is equipped with a high-power laser diode of the latest generation. This enables you to obtain an outstanding image on your night vision scope even when there are conditions of complete darkness and even when the distances involved are considerable. The patented optical system means that the IR laser Illuminator is classified in Laser Class 1 and may thus be operated in normal use without registration and without risk. There is no danger even when the IR laser Illuminator is looked into directly while it is switched on. This has been confirmed by an independent expert report provided by the Berufsgenossenschaft der Feinmechanik und Elektrotechnik (Professional Association of Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering). Already today digital night vision devices produce a very good image quality in combination with an IR illuminator - and they are certainly the technology of the future! This is why we have also applied the new Version II design to our LA940-50-PRO, which was specifically developed for digital night vision devices. With a wavelength of 940 nm, no red glowing can be seen even when looking directly into the laser light source. Observations can thus be performed fully undetected even from short distances.

The range which can be obtained using the LASERLUCHS IR laser illuminator depends on the following factors:

• the photocathode sensitivity of the image intensifier tube
• the photosensitivity of the camera module
• the quality of the optical systems used
• focussing system of the IR laser illuminator
• the weather conditions (e. g. mist, rain or snow) Depending on the illuminators focussing system, there may be small differences in brightness in the outside area of the lustre cone. The technical principles involved result in an optimum illumination of an object being achieved at greater distances, while the round and uniform illumination becomes slightly angular at smaller distances.
